Alb&eacute;niz with his daughter, LauraBorn in Camprodon, province of Girona, to &Aacute;ngel Alb&eacute;niz (a customs official) and his wife Dolors Pascual, Alb&eacute;niz was a child prodigy who first performed at the age of four. At age seven, after apparently taking lessons from Antoine Marmontel, he passed the entrance examination for piano at the Paris Conservatoire, but he was refused admission because he was believed to be too young. His concert career began at the young age of nine when his father toured both Isaac and his sister, Clementina, throughout northern Spain. Earl Hines was born in the Pittsburgh suburb of Duquesne, Pennsylvania. His father was a cornetist and leader of Pittsburgh’s Eureka Brass Band, his stepmother a church organist. Eva Olmerov&aacute; was born in Prague in 1934. She started piano lessons at the age of 6, as a pupil of Aurelie K&aacute;anov&aacute;-Bubnov&aacute;. After World War II her grandparents returned from London, where her grandfather had worked with Edvard Bene, president of the exiled Czechoslovak government. Her parents divorced in 1948, when she was fourteen. She remained with her father. Fitzenhagen was born in Seesen in the Duchy of Brunswick, where his father served as music director. Beginning at age five, he received lessons on the piano, the cello and the violin. Many times, he had to substitute for wind players absent due to various emergencies. At 14, Fitzenhagen began advanced study of the cello with Theodore M&uuml;ller. Three years later Fitzenhagen played for the Duke of Brunswick, who released him from all military service. In 1867 some noble patrons enabled him to study for a year with Friedrich Gr&uuml;tzmacher in Dresden, A year later he was appointed to the Dresden Hofkapelle, where he started his career as soloist.
