Online casinos, also known as virtual casinos or Internet casinos, are online versions of traditional ( brick and mortar ) casinos. Online casinos enable gamblers to play and wager on casino games through the Internet. Online casinos generally offer odds and payback percentages that are comparable to landbased casinos. Some online casinos claim higher payback percentages for slot machine games, and some publish payout percentage audits on their websites. Assuming that the online casino is using an appropriately programmed random number generator, table games like blackjack have an established house edge. The payout percentage for these games are established by the rules of the game. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Opening narration Mr. Fitzgerald Fortune, theater critic and cynic at large, on his way to a birthday party. If he knew what is in store for him, he probably wouldn’t go, because before this evening is over that cranky old piano is going to play ‘Those Piano Roll Blues’, with some effects that could happen only in the Twilight Zone. : Synopsis Drama critic Fitzgerald Fortune goes to Throckmorton’s curio shop to buy his young wife Esther a player piano as a birthday present. At the shop, as the hard-bitten and hard-shelled owner plays the piano, he reveals his soft, sentimental side. Fortune notes the piano’s magical properties, which reveal men’s true natures, and purchases it. Later at home, the solemn butler, Marvin, bursts out laughing under the influence of the piano and reveals that he actually enjoys working for Fortune. When Fortune puts on a roll for his wife, she reveals that she detests him for his cruelty to her and the people around him. He then tries it out on one of his wife’s party guests, a jaded playwright , Gregory Walker, who admits to being in love with Fitzgerald’s wife Esther and that they had a tryst while she was on vacation away from Fitzgerald. It was established in 1976 as “ABC-FM”, and later for a short time was known as “ABC Fine Music” (a play on the letters FM), before adopting its current name. It was the ABC ‘s first experiment in FM broadcasting which had become a necessity in Australia as broadcasters ran out of AM frequencies on which to transmit. ABC Classic FM, inspired partly by the example of BBC Radio 3 , broadcasts classical music, operas, recitals, live concerts, music analysis programmes. Excerpt: Loaded is the fourth album by the Velvet Underground, released in September, 1970, one month after Lou Reed had left the band, by Atlantic Records’ subsidiary label, Cotillion. Loaded is a commercial effort aimed at radio play, another step away from the Warhol-influenced days. The album’s title refers to Atlantic’s request that the band produce an album “loaded with hits”. Doug Yule said, “On Loaded there was a big push to produce a hit single, there was that mentality, which one of these is a single, how does it sound when we cut it down to 3½ minutes, so that was a major topic for the group at that point. And I think that the third album to a great extent shows a lot of that in that a lot of those songs were designed as singles and if you listen to them you can hear the derivation, like this is sort of a Phil Spector-ish kind of song, or this is that type of person song.” Reed was critical of the album’s final mix. Reed left the Velvet Underground on August 23, 1970 but Loaded wasn’t released until a month later, in September. After its release, Reed discovered that the album had been re-edited and resequenced without his consent. One of Reed’s sore points resulting from that unauthorized re-editing was that the “heavenly wine and roses” melody was cut out of “Sweet Jane”. In Reed’s later solo performances, he would routinely leave that verse out so that his performance would match the record. However, the post-Reed, Doug Yule-led Velvets performed the song with the verse re-inserted. Reed also felt snubbed by being listed third in the credits on the album; and by the large photo of Yule playing piano; and by all the songwriting credits improperly going to the band, rather than Reed himself. Newer releases have satisfied many of Reed’s con… More:

It is named after the song by Fats Waller, “Ain’t Misbehavin’” It serves as a tribute to the black musicians of the 1920s and ’30s who were part of the Harlem Renaissance , an era of growing creativity, cultural awareness, and ethnic pride, and takes its title from the 1929 Waller song “Ain’t Misbehavin’ “. It was a time when Manhattan nightclubs like the Cotton Club and the Savoy Ballroom were the playgrounds of high society and Lenox Avenue dives were filled with piano players banging out the new beat known as swing . Five performers present an evening of rowdy, raunchy, and humorous songs that encapsulate the various moods of the era and reflect Waller’s view of life as a journey meant for pleasure and play. Excerpt: Ben Kweller Ben Kweller (born June 16, 1981, San Francisco , California ) is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist . Biography Early life Ben Kweller was born in San Francisco, CA in 1981. In 1982, his family relocated to Emory, Texas , where his father, Howard Kweller, became the town’s first doctor. In 1986, the Kwellers moved to a much larger city, Greenville, TX . Kweller was exposed to music at a very early age. Howard taught Ben how to play the drums when he was seven years old. For the next year, the father and son pair would play together almost every night after Howard got home from work. With Howard singing and playing guitar and Ben keeping the beat, the duo would play songs by The Beatles , The Hollies , Jimi Hendrix , and other artists of the 1960s. Howard is also a longtime friend of Nils Lofgren , a neighbor with whom he went to high school. Kweller has mentioned in interviews that meeting Lofgren greatly helped his exposure to music. When Kweller turned eight, someone showed him how to play “Heart and Soul” on the piano and the youngster immediately began to create his own songs using the same chords. He still uses the same technique to write his songs today. By the time he was nine he had a dozen original compositions under his belt and entered a songwriting contest sponsored by Billboard magazine magazine . Kweller won an honorable mention. Adult Years Kweller married his girlfriend Liz (the subject of the song “Lizzy”) and they have two sons, named Dorian Zev Kweller, born in May 2006, and Judah Evan Kweller, born

Excerpt: John Popper (born March 29, 1967) is an American musician and songwriter. He is most famous for his role as frontman of rock band Blues Traveler performing harmonica, guitar and vocals. He is widely considered a harmonica virtuoso, and is listed by harmonica manufacturer Hohner as a “Featured Artist”, an accolade reserved for only the best and most successful harmonica players. John Popper was born in Cleveland, Ohio. His father was a Hungarian immigrant who escaped Budapest in the 1950s. Through him, Popper is related to David Popper, a nineteenth-century European cellist. Popper was raised in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. He attended Davenport Ridge School, Stamford Catholic High School (now Trinity Catholic High School) and Princeton High School (New Jersey). He took lessons on the piano, the cello, and the guitar, but none of those instruments appealed to him and he hated being forced to practice. He originally wanted to become a comedian, finding he could use humor to make friends and avoid bullies, but when he and a friend performed a routine as The Blues Brothers, he found that he enjoyed musical performance. From there, he took up the harmonica. Popper played trumpet in the Princeton High School Studio Jazz Band, and convinced the teacher to let him play harmonica instead, after an in-class solo on the song “She Blinded Me With Science”. He formed several garage bands with friends in Princeton, New Jersey, one of which evolved into Blues Traveler in 1987. After graduating from high school, the group’s members all moved to New York City, where Popper enrolled in The New School for Social Research. Popper att…More:

Excerpt: Frédéric Chopin s Allegro de concert, Op. 46 is a piece for piano , published in November 1841. It is in one movement and takes between 13 and 15 minutes to play. The principal themes are bold and expressive. It has a curious place in the Chopin canon, and while its history is obscure, the evidence supports the view, shared by Robert Schumann and others, that it started out as the first movement of a projected third piano concerto, of which the orchestral parts are either now non-existent or were never scored at all. There is no evidence that Chopin ever even started work on the latter two movements of this concerto.Chopin published his two piano concertos in 1830. That same year he wrote that he was planning a concerto for two pianos and orchestra, and would play it with his friend Napoleon Tomasz Nidecki (1807-1852) if he managed to finish it. He worked on it for some months but he had the greatest difficulty with it, and this work never eventuated; however, he may have used ideas from it in later works. There is also evidence that Chopin started work on a third concerto for solo piano and orchestra. In Chopin: The Piano Concertos , Rink quotes from an unpublished Chopin letter, dated 10 September 1841, offering Breitkopf

It is considered to be a legendary Broadway flop, running only seven performances. It was Bernstein’s last original score for Broadway.Original Broadway production The musical opened on May 4, 1976 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre and closed on May 8, 1976 after 7 performances and 13 previews. It is scored for 2 flutes , 2 oboes , 2 clarinets , 2 vibraphones , unpitched percussion , 2 samplers , 2 pianos , string quartet , and double bass . All instruments except the unpitched percussion are to be amplified. Its duration is 24 minutes. It uses digital samplers amongst the instruments used in performance, and these play back a wide variety of sounds and speech samples, mainly recorded by Reich himself in and around his home town of New York . These sounds include car horns, air brakes, car alarms and many other sounds associated with the city. The use of the samplers extends the idea of using everyday sounds in music, endebted to the taxi horn in Gershwin ‘s An American in Paris , the sirens used by Varèse , and Antheil ‘s airplane propeller within the classical tradition as well as to rock and roll and rap . This use also harkens back to Reich’s early tape pieces (especially the third movement). The samplers are loaded with speech and other sounds (car horns, door slams, air brakes, subway chimes, pile drivers, car alarms, heartbeats, boat horns, buoys, and sirens). The last movement uses bits of field communications from the New York Fire Department during the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center .The

Excerpt: John Leslie “Wes” Montgomery (6 March 1923 – 15 June 1968) was an American jazz guitarist. He is generally considered one of the major jazz guitarists, emerging after such seminal figures as Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian and influencing countless others, including Pat Martino, George Benson, Emily Remler, Kenny Burrell and Pat Metheny. Montgomery was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He came from a musical family; his brothers, Monk (string bass and electric bass) and Buddy (vibraphone and piano), were jazz performers. The brothers released a number of albums together as the Montgomery Brothers. Although he was not skilled at reading music, he could learn complex melodies and riffs by ear. Montgomery started learning guitar relatively late, at the age of 19, by listening to and learning the recordings of his idol, guitarist Charlie Christian. He was known for his ability to play Christian solos note for note and was hired by Lionel Hampton for this ability. Many fellow jazz guitarists consider Montgomery the greatest influence among modern jazz guitarists. Pat Metheny has praised him greatly, saying “I learned to play listening to Wes Montgomery’s Smokin’ At The Half Note.” In addition, Metheny stated to the New York Times in 2005 that the solo on “If You Could See Me Now,” from this album is his favorite of all time. Joe Pass said, “To me, there have been only three real innovators on the guitar—Wes Montgomery, Charlie Christian, and Django Reinhardt,” as cited in James Sallis’s The Guitar Players and in his Hot Licks instructional video. In addition, George Benson attests, “Wes had a corn on his thumb, which gave his sound that point. He would get one sound for the soft parts, and then that point by using the corn. That’s why no one … More:
