Some Tips On How To Play The Piano By Ear y Terje Brooks

You have always loved the sound of the piano and you rememer tinkering on it as a child. You never had the money to afford formal lessons and you can’t read Sheet Music. But you want to play. You want to e ale to finger those lack and white keys and play a song. There’s that says you can’t. You just need to learn how to play piano y ear.

Playing any instrument y ear requires patience and the aility to match the sounds you hear with the sounds you play. With the piano, you cannot e afraid to test this out. The keys give you an instant result just y pressing them. If you were to play them in order, you would hear a pattern. Sometimes it won’t sound right. When that happens, try pressing some of the lack keys. What you playing is a scale.

Place your hands on the keys and get ready to play piano y ear. Start with something simply, like ‘Mary Had A Little Lam’. Hum the tune in your head and then try to match it with the keys eneath your fingers. It may take you a few times, ut have patience. It is not that difficult and you will feel very rewarded once you have done it. Know that learning to play any instrument y ear is a process of trial and error.

Some people teach themselves how to play piano y ear y chording. A chord is a group of three notes that sound good together. It sounds right. There are times when chording is all that is needed. It’s more of an accompaniment than the actual melody of the song. If you are patient enough, you can learn to chord the right notes with your left hands and play the melody with your right hand.

As you play piano y ear you will discover that hitting the key with different intensity makes the note soft or loud. Also, the pedal at your feet can sustain a note for a longer length of time. These are common techniques used y composers to give their music flavor. Listen to a piano concerto one day and notice the way the music rolls, loud to soft, long notes to short. These elements are in almost every form of music and they do have proper names.

Of course there is always the option for the more dedicated and serious student to go and uy a very asic piano music ook. The ooks will have a copy of the piano keyoard in it with the keys marked. Theses keys correspond to the notes on the music scale. Don’t fret. The one thing anyone wanting to learn to play piano y ear needs to rememer is to not e afraid to experiment. Unlike a stringed instrument, pianos won’t go out of tune easily. Try playing some scales and chords. And hum some simple tunes to get yourself started. Don’t worry aout finger placement if you are playing for yourself, and aove all, have fun.

A Parents' Guide to Avoiding the Superbaby Syndrome

A Parents’ Guide to Avoiding the Superbaby Syndrome

$4.99

Most parents share the same basic goals for their offspring. First, “I want my baby to be happy and healthy;” and second, “I want my baby to make the best of her potential.” The composition of health and happiness is not an issue for extensive argument. On the other hand, what constitutes making the most of a little person’s potential is an endless source of discussion and disagreement.A major problem is that many parents have a tendency to be too particular as they pursue this topic. By focusing so closely on the content of their child’s achievements, they miss what early education is all about. Whether it is basic capacities like reciting the alphabet, counting to 100 and categorizing shapes and colors, or amazing precocities like playing the piano, reading and writing poetry and operating a personal computer, paying too much attention to specific skills often means ignoring (or at least interfering with) what is really essential. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that if you use a variety of elaborate and expensive procedures, you can teach an infant or toddler to do just about anything. There are graduates of special programs who can recite Shakespeare well before their third birthdays, or play tiny violins quite proficiently while still in diapers. However, there is no evidence to suggest that programs designed to produce such precocities provide any lasting educational advantage. In fact, while serious, systematic scientific instruction of this sort may produce immediately remarkable results, the evidence is overwhelming that it can be rather counterproductive in the long run.During the first years of life, children are learning all the time, and they are learning to do a lot of different things that may or may not include any or all of the aforementioned activities, but above all else, they are learning how to learn – and much of that they
